We loved the response from our first giveaway so much that John and I are already talking about more we can do again this year. We’ll keep everyone up-to-date though our blog, Facebook, and Twitter. In fact, we’ll be launching a new website format this week! But now, what you’ve all been waiting for…
Congrats to Honey, our very first Blog Giveaway Recipient!
I used Rafflecopter to moderate this Giveaway because it chooses winners randomly from all of the entries. But talk about luck, because we will actually be posting a blog of Honey and her fiance soon. John just photographed their “Test Drive” photoshoot at the Arboretum in Dallas this Sunday!
Again, thank you all for participating.
Love,
John and Anne

On Friday, Mere and I were doing what we normally do at work – e-mailing each other like we’re IMing. We were trying to figure out what we wanted to do the night. She suggested we go see “Incredibly Loud and Extremely Loud,” but I said no, because even the trailer makes me want to cry. I didn’t want to subject anyone to a blubbery pregnant mess. We tossed around the idea of bowling, but we were both just ok with that idea. I suggested that they take advantage of my preggo status while I DD everyone and chasing Food Trucks in DFW. Mere worked her google magic and found the Fort Worth Food Park. How did we not know about the magical ally in Fort Worth where Food Trucks pull up daily to serve their wares? How?? We’re supposed to be Foodies! And the best part? There are clean restrooms and it’s BYO. Hello perfect Friday night! We grabbed our men, called Misty and JJ, and we were off. It was a fantastic evening. The hands-down winner of the evening was the zucchini bread whoopie pie from The Munch Box.
To prevent me from not knowing about fun treasures like this one, send me your Foodie and adventure ideas.
Love,
Anne

A few years ago, we photographed the wedding of two of our friends from college – Marsha and John. Last year they had a darling little girl! Marsha was a hostess for Cami’s shower, so while I was in Corpus for the party, we took a few minutes to celebrate Baby E’s nine month birthday. She was playing with my pearls during the shower, (thank you, John), so Marsha let her play with them while I snapped portraits. Can you believe how sparkly her blue eyes are?
Love,
Anne

This June, John and I flew up to Minnesota to photograph my cousin Hank’s wedding. The day before the wedding, we went to the Minnesota Landscaper Arboretum to photograph a few engagement portraits. The Arboretum was gorgeous, and it seemed to go on forever. I particularly loved the endless varieties of hostas growing in the shade of tall Minnesota trees.

Last week, John and I got an early morning call from a friend of ours. Echo said that her sweet friend from grade school, Katie needed a photographer for her wedding…that day. Three hours later, John and I were in Corsicana to photograph a wedding. Katie and Clay were married at the same church where her grandparents and her parents were born, which was right next door to her grandmother’s house. We loved how special the spot was to her family. We even stopped by her grandmother’s to take a portrait among all of the flowers on her front porch. After that, we drove to Waxahachie to the Greenery for their reception.
The Greenery is a nursery full of native Texas plants and funky yard art, but it’s also a venue. It was very relaxed and perfect for a reception full of friends, family, and kids. We had a fabulous time running after all of the kids playing in the Greenery Garden’s backyard. Katie and Clay filled their wedding with unique little details – from the blue bows she tied on her shoes, to the mix and match of cakes and desserts they served for their wedding cake, to the special menu they had planned for their little guests (hello, Capri Sun!). We were lucky to get Echo’s call that morning, because we had a wonderful time getting to know and photographing Katie and Clay. See more of their day here.
